Hanging with Billy-Wayne

This beautiful flower is dedicated to the most amazing woman in the world...my mother.  She passed away this week and it was the hardest thing I have ever been through.  My boyfriend and I traveled to Ohio to see her one last time.  My heart was broken.  My sister is an avid crafter and she took me to Pat Catan's which is a very affordable craft store in Ohio.  I found this image for only $1.  My sister crafts to relax so we all decided to do a little.

I ran the background through the texture boutique to emboss it with these great flowers.  The cardstock is all generic, at least I think it is.  My sister has these big racks full of paper and I may have taken a ton of it home with me.  Woops!  I colored the image with Copics which was my first attempt at using them.  Not too bad for someone who only crafts because my sister makes me.

Now comes the fun part.  I have been dating Billy-Wayne for a while now.  He decided he was going to craft with me and here is what he did:

Great job Billy-Wayne!!!!!!

I am entering this in only one challenge...2 Sisters Challenge which is embossing this week.  My sister is on the DT and I thought she would like that.  She is hurting too but I know my mother is in a better place.

We all love you mom!

Thinking of You.....

Hi everyone.  I know I have been missing in action but I am back.  This card is for the 2 Sisters Challenge #20.  Please stop by their blog and join in.  It is for a very worthy cause.   The details are on their site so please check it out.  Sorry for the bad picture.  I am still using my phone.  I can't seem to figure out how to work my scanner and my daughter was just toooooooo busy to help me out this time.  I promise to learn how to do it by myself this year!

For the card, I just used all the scraps I had around my craft desk and just whip them together.  I didn't want to miss out on this one so I was pressed for time.  My sister loves my background paper as she has pajamas just like it!

Again, please visit the site and join in if you can.  These cards will go to hospital patients.  My mother spent 8 months straight in the hospital and she would have loved to receive cards like the ones being created.  Thanks so much.

The Burtonesque Dolls Sketch Challenge

This week I am turning things over to my lovely daughter Liz.  She created this card for The Burtonesque Dolls sketch challenge.  The sketch is on their blog.  This is her very first attempt at entering a challenge and I think she did a SUPER job!!!  Here is her entry:

Liz has been crafting all her life.  She is almost 19 and is in college.  I am just so very proud of her.  Her aunt and I both have craft blogs and she wanted in on the fun!!!  Good luck Liz!!!

FLUTTER BY WEDNESDAY #128

Hi everyone.  I am entering this card in the Flutterby Wednesday challenge #128.  We were supposed to use purple, black & orange with either a butterfly, fairy or angle.  Here you go:

I used just leftover scraps and a couple of flower punches to create this.  I added a touch glitter with some Gelly Roll pens.  The little fairy image is another one I found in my sister's craft room.  I love sleeping babies...winged or wingless!   I hope you like it.  Thanks for visiting.

FLUTTERBY WEDNESDAY #127

Here is my entry for the Flutterby Wednesday anything goes challenge.  We could create whatever we wanted as long as it had a butterfly, fairy or angel on it somewhere.

I was having scanner issues so I had to take the picture with my daughter's phone.  It seems a bit blurry to me.  This little cutie is going to a coworker who just had a newborn.  I used a stamp I found buried in my sister's craft studio (a person could get lost in there).  I colored it with Whisper Stroke markers and Gelly Roll pens.  The decorative punch is from Fiskars.  I had a great time working on this.  I think I am really getting the hang of crafting and look foward to doing more.

Thanks for stopping by.

I'M BACK!!!

I had soooooooooooo much fun with my first post that I had to do another.  Isn't this guy just the cutest???  I always did like my men skinny.  I hope this brings as smile to your face.  xoxoxox

MY FIRST POST EVER...MY FIRST CHALLENGE EVER!!!

This if for The Burtonesque Dolls challenge #20.  We had to use this sketch for the challenge and channel Edward Scissorhands.

Let me just say that this was hard for me as I am NOT a crafter...but I hope to become one.  Reading about the supernatural is what I love to do.  Crafting is what I am learning to love to do.  My sister made me the Edward image and I colored it in.  I thought that was just as good as a rubber stamp since she just made me a line drawing.

I used some scrap papers I had from last year when I started trying to craft.  I took a long break and now I am back.  I was glad to have a layout to follow since I am just a beginner...did I mention I am not yet a crafter (lol)?

I heat embossed some little silver starburst to give it a little something extra.  I hope you like it!  Please be kind with your comments.  I feel like such a child compared to the other work I have seen online.  Some of you ladies are AMAZING!
